Virginia Beach

My wonderful husband kidnapped me for an anniversary weekend. We escaped to Virginia Beach for the weekend and it was great. This came at a great time because he had to be “in the field” all week, so we won’t see each other—it was nice to get some alone time before then.
Mike had never been to the Atlantic Ocean before…he is used to California beaches. One of the first things he noticed is that when the sun is setting there are shadows on the beach. He also noticed that the water seems very clam. I tried to convince him that the water is warmer than the Pacific, but it was a bit cold as it is still April.
We’ve been married for two years! It’s hard to believe! Sometimes I feel like we’ve been together forever, and sometimes I feel like it was yesterday that we got married. It’s been a great two years, with many more to come!
Here are some pictures of our trip.

This is the view from our hotel room…it was beautiful. I loved waking up to the sunrise!

We ate breakfast at Pocahontas’ Pancakes and Waffle House (we didn’t see her…she was probably cooking our yummy breakfast).

Proof that Mike has been in the Atlantic Ocean.

Living it up for our anniversary!

On the way home we stopped and toured the USS Wisconsin in Norfolk. It’s a pretty cool battleship and it was a great day to be outside.

It was a great weekend. I hope we can do it again soon!
